The Board of Directors of Prescot Cables Football Club must announce the resignation of Chairman Tony Zeverona.
Tony has been the Chairman of the Club since 2005 and along with other key individuals, was instrumental in steering the club towards a more stable footing and transforming the Club into a Supporter owned Community Interest Football Club.
The resignation will come as a surprise to many due to Tony being a stalwart of the club and a well-known figure within the Merseyside and North West non-league scene. The club is presently riding high in the EVO-STIK North Division and currently placed third. The Club recently won the Liverpool Senior Cup, beating National League side Southport FC in a thrilling final. Attendances have increased significantly at the club and there is every reason to be optimistic about the club’s future.
However, Tony considers that it is now the right time for someone else to take the helm and steer the club onwards and upwards to secure Cables future and achieve even greater success.
The Club would like to place on record their thanks to Tony Zeverona for his hard work and dedication over many years and wishes him well for the future.
Further details will be released about the recruitment and appointment of a new Chairman of Prescot Cables.
